To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:4-5)

‘Disallowed indeed of men’… Yes, Jesus came to this world to rescue the world, but people make him die upon the cross. Such phenomenon is happening even these days. He is taking an active part in a salvation of people as ever, but many people are refusing him, and even persecute and kill believers.

The Bible says that Jesus is a living stone. A stone is used to build a building. The reason of an expression ‘Jesus is a living stone’ is that Jesus is a foundation stone of a Lord’s church. Yes, he is the basis of Lord’s church. If we don’t build a building on this basis, the building will fell with a great crash when the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew (Mat 7:27). The church of the Lord must be built upon a rock, ‘Jesus Christ’.

The Bible says that Christians are also living stones. In other words, Christians are building materials. Many materials are gathered, and make one church. We must pay attention to a fact that when the stones are constructed firmly the building is made finely. Likewise, the church of the Lord never can be made by specific people. When each person in a church harmonizes each other and stands with a firm faith, the church has a graceful figure in the eyes of the Lord. It is the task of believers who build a spiritual house.

Also, it is very important to become a spiritual victim Lord receives through Jesus Christ as Christian belongs to a church. Are we a being receivable to Lord? How do we prepare for it? The answer is very simple; it is removing the things Lord dislike in our own, that is, we must leave even a shape of a sin. If we have a figure of a sin as before, Lord can’t receive us.

For this reason, we must live the holy life. A holy priest is our new position got from Christ. Not only living a holy life but living as a priest is a new mission of Lord for us. It is guiding people into the presence of Lord, and making peaceful between Lord and people or among people as a intercessor. We have to bring to a successful finish of this entire mission. Remember that the root of all this is a living stone, Jesus Christ.
