Today Christians are confused by the things about baptism. This is an objection that Satan attacks Christians by, and he makes them be greenhorn in belief for Christ through getting discolored its meaning. Nowadays many people think that acting baptism is very biblical, but in one breathe they consider that it won’t have influence on their life of faith. However, baptism is very important for Christians in actually, because it has the most fundamental doctrines of all faith.
The Bible talks about baptism through Noah’s ark event. The world committed sins, and the Lord made a plan to ruin this world. When the world was judged by water, Noah’s family who prepared an ark to follow the words of God was alive, but the rest couldn’t help avoiding ruin. Noah also was on the center of water, but he was in the ark which was made according to the words of God and he received salvation. This is another model of baptism.
Yes, baptism shows symbolically that believers will become get salvation on the judgment days through building a house that can avoid ruins. Baptism is never a simple ceremony. If you believe that this ceremony can rescue us, you will have a very hard time; you can’t avoid ruin in the end.
Baptism means death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Someone hold fast to baptism by sprinkling than baptism by immersion and than say “if we have a faith, everything is okay, isn’t it?” Of course, it isn’t true that we can’t receive salvation until baptism; in actual fact, although a burglar on the cross who was next to Jesus didn’t receive baptism, but he receive salvation. However, it is insufficient to explain that baptism has no use, because the Bible is talking about baptism and baptism faith many times.
What do we need for our salvation? What is the way we can avoid ruin? It is to believe Jesus Christ with no exceptions; with accuracy, it is to believe death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus for our sins. Yes, this faith is baptism faith.
